Future TV (http://dynamik.tv / http://udktv.com) is an online broadcasting platform based in London. It focuses on the development of peer to peer television, which is produced and distributed through ‘web2.0’ technologies and mobile / hand held devices. Young people will be involved in all aspects of running the channel, including taking part in decision making, creative direction and producing films + videos.
Who is it for? The project is open to young people (16 – 19 years old) who are resident in LB Islington and LB Haringey. You must be available for 2 days (12 hours) a week for 10 weeks and be ready to take on new and exciting challenges.
What will you get? Flexible learning opportunities, based around your interests and the variety of roles needed to run a Future TV Channel. Media production skills can be chosen from a menu including: film + video production, music technology, mobile broadcast, cinematography, animation, editing, marketing, programming, creative direction and art direction. Soft skills will include confidence development, motivation and interpersonal skills. These skills will be taught by Future TV production staff and industrial specialists, coming from, for example, TV, advertising, music publishing, and new technology agencies.
You will also receive 1:1 support and advice + guidance from the attached youth worker and programme staff as well as supported sign posting into further training and employment.
Accreditation There will be opportunities for you to undertake an Arts Award level 1 qualification. SPACE is an accredited Arts Award Centre.
Support costs Transport costs will be paid for and food will be provided.
