I've made a page comparing the embedding capabilities available from various video hosts: Video Embedding Tests
I hope some of you find it useful.
I've not included HD because most people are unable (yet) to view HD in real time, these services are in their infancy, and till it settles down most video creatives will expect to deliver content in SD.
I think the big questions for film creatives who post stuff on the net are who their target audience really is, how to reach them, and how to maintain an appropriate level of quality. This may well provide several different answers, and most professional filmakers would thus want to use several approaches: post in communities like Vimeo; other more commercial sites; on YouTube; and also create a dedicated site - which is where embedding comes in.
I'm still improving it, so any suggestions gratefully received.
Cheers!

KEWEGO is a German service and the interface language is Deutsch. However, the registration process and controls are pretty similar to any of the common video hosts - so you shouldn’t find it too difficult to make your way around this one, even if you don’t know the language. Incidentally, there is a small link right at the bottom of the page that allows you to switch to the English version. Keep in mind though - majority of the audience is German. Max file size is 1gig. Website: http://www.kewego.co.uk
VIDILIFE is a basic video uploading and sharing site. Has the look & feel of YouTube in it’s teething stages. Claims to allow unlimited uploads. It looks like there is no file limit. So we should be able to get it up here. Website: http://www.vidilife.com
SPIKE is a service by iFILM that has an extensive library of movie clips, music videos, short films, video game trailers, action sports and its popular ‘viral videos’ collection. Since October 2005, it’s a part of the Viacom network - so one can definitely trust this one. You can upload an entire feature film on this site. Website: http://www.spike.com

Thanks for the heads up Ricky.
Those three sites seem to be for the cars, fights, and girls in bikinis crowd. I guess it depends on what you intend to put up - maybe they're you're target audience!
Kewego's featured hot video is "Sex And The City - Exclusive Sarah Jessica Parker and Michael Patrick King interview" Wow, that's a real must see exclusive!
Anyway TZM1 uploaded there easily enough. But the video doesn't look too hot, though the sound is in excellent stereo! But there appears to be no way to embed it elsewhere...
I'm now making my third attempt to upload to Vidilife - data is definitely being uploaded, though their progress bar shows nothing. Another cars n chicks site with "Suicidal Man Causes Rescuers To Get Electrocuted" Nice. There was a promising link on How to Fight a Shark that yielded nowt worth reading.
Spike (now owned by MTV) "Australian girls in bikinis throw ice cream at each other in a slow motion food fight." All innocent fun. I can't remember why I gave up on Spike before. Maybe they run ads, or the quality's rubbish, or something. Not inclined to try again.
Ah! Vidilife has failed for the third time. But I have a po-up message: "One of your buddies has a crush on you!" Oh bugger off...
Fact is, it should be easy. I'm sure there's a sweet spot for settings on many of these sites - some way of getting good quality, but life is too short, and there are better more user friendly sites around. I would say it's it's only worth investigating these if you're after their specific audience.
Sorry to be so negative about your contribution Ricky...
